I've been asked once again about the very small income from places like clixsense, mylot, etc. I hear it's not enough money to justify the time spent earning it. Well guess what? That will never change in the eyes of people who want to earn online doing relatively zero work! Building a business online or other wise has the same drawbacks and assets as doing anything. When you start college you don't go directly to the last year of school! When you start a business you don't go directly to the income faze. When you graduate from college you don't become an instant CEO!
Sorry to be the one to tell you, but building anything starts with a foundation. You can't do business in a foundation anymore than you can live in the foundation of a house! You need plumbing, electrical access, and more than anything else you need a roof!
So you start with the foundation. Believe it or not it is simple sites that glean very little money. But I ask you, how much do you need to know about running a business by interacting in these simple sites? Nothing. You need to work. Learn from others what they do to earn if they are willing to share free of charge! Become familiar with business terminology, book keeping, taxes, logical business start ups and that's only a few of the requirements to build the building!
Just because you know it can be done doesn't mean you can do it! There are plenty of people making more than just a living online. That doesn't mean it's easy at all! So here are the steps I went through to earn money online:
1. My foundation included anything that made any amount of money that required little knowledge and ease of use. To this day clixsense and mylot are fun sites for me. On April 15th I will see $10 from clixsense. Not enough you say? Well that money goes straight to my business. That's $10 more than I had to invest in myself! And I had fun doing it!
2. While completing my foundation I researched and researched and then researched some more. After a few start ups and stops and failures I came to the conclusion I could consider myself a serial failure or turn around and look at everything I learned. That knowledge led me to realize successful people are serial failures, successful people know what they can do, successful people don't spend a lot of time saying "I don't like doing that", successful people are constantly looking for better ways of doing things! And then came my first real business, combining my love for talking to people and providing a product people like, sometimes have need for and want to come back for no other reason but to enjoy their experience!
3. Finishing and refining the way I do business by leaving the door open to new possibilities. All the time making and building income!
No matter what you do, online or offline, it takes work. Yes, most of the time you don't have a dress code, time clock, or the commute to your place of business. Sitting in your robe and slippers is not unusual. People will think you're just sitting at home waiting for their call to do them a favor, "because you're at home doing nothing". They'll think you are a "trust baby" because you do "nothing". If only they knew you are sometimes up till midnight working.
In reality you are filling in your spreadsheets "data bases", responding to email, and planing in your Daytimer. After all, how can you sleep if your business needs attention?
I'm not going to say I see millions in my future. I'm not going to tell you I will move to a more affluent neighborhood. I can tell you I love what I do! I'm going to be expanding. I will be handing out business cards and postcards like crazy. I will continuously research realistic ideas to enhance what I'm doing already. Whatever I do in the future I will have fun doing. No one will be asking me for last months spread sheets or productivity records. There will be no office politics, and no one at the top of the food chain changing my processes in the way I do business.
I am responsible only to Uncle Sam and my family!
